Your Best Body Challenge Begins!

We kicked of Your Best Body Challenge  this morning with our first workout.  A butt-kickin’ good time was had by all.

Your Best Body Challenge Winners!

Check out the winners and other success stories from our series of Your Best Body Challenges!  These ladies are all regular people just like you.  They didn’t think they would win it either and yet they had amazing results.  All they did was follow our Your Best Body Challenge guide, attend our workouts and learn how to eat well with our coaching.  Most of all, they made a commitment to change their lives.  Each was, in her own way, done with living half a life.  Each of them was over having their weight affect every aspect of their lives.  They were each ready to make a change. And change, they did.

Judy had some amazing results is just 6 weeks:

Pounds lost: 12

Judy came to us feeling “fat and weak.”  She had lost direction in her life.  She was eating at restaurants (mostly fast food) and not exercising at all.  In the 6 weeks she spent with us, she started eating at home and attending boot camp regularly.  Even with the improvements she was making, she still felt like she was holding the entire group back because she was “the weakest link.” She was continually inspired by the achievements of the other women in the group and was completely shocked when I announced her as the winner of the contest! She is back in control of her life and the changes she made in the past 6 weeks are long-term ones that she can be proud of.

April Serjeant, winner of The Your Best Body Spring Challenge shares her amazing weigh-loss success story. Over the course of the 8-week challenge, she lost 30 lbs. of body fat and gained 15 lbs. of muscle, resulting in a total weight loss in the end of 12.5 pounds (6.4% of her body weight), 7.5% body fat loss and 11 inches gone!

What an amazing 8 weeks!!!

We began our challenge way back on February 5 and what a fantastic journey it has been! We have a short video below from this weekend’s winner announcement, but watch this space for more pics and to hear from the challengers in their own words.

In addition to our 3 grand prize winners, we awarded prizes for greatest body fat percentage lost and greatest number of inches lost int he 8 weeks of the Challenge

Greatest Body Fat % Change: Donna McDonald lost 7.3% Body Fat

Greatest Number of Inches Lost: Maureen Bennett lost 11 inches

Donna and Maureen won a $25 AlaskaFit Gift Certificate and a $50 Gift Certificate to Pure Skin Care in downtown Anchorage

Our big prize winners:

2nd Runner Up: Lyann Lloyd lost 6 pounds (4.7% of her body weight), 5.5% body fat and 10.5 inches.  She joined our boot camp class full time at 10am and has more energy than ever (no more afternoon naps), she is no longer tired after the warm up and she inspires others. Lyann won a 4-month membership to PowerHouse Gym a and a $100 AlaskaFit Gift Certificate.

1st Runner Up: Anna Bryant lost 10 pounds of body fat (5.8% of her body weight), lost 9.4% body fat and 9.5 inches. All of this while going to school full time and working part time.  She, too joined our 10am boot camp and somehow managed to squeeze it in between school and work.  The Challenge and Boot Camp helped her to deal with the stress of school and work and she’s back into her size 8s! Anna won 1 month of unlimited yoga at Anchorage Yoga and a Yoga Mat.

Our Grand Prize Winner is April Sarjeant. Over the course of the Challenge, April lost 30 pounds of body fat and replaced it with 15 pounds of muscle. Her final numbers from start to finish showed a total weight loss of 12.5 pounds (6.4% of her body weight), 7.5% body fat loss and 11 inches gone!  Another full-time 10am Boot Camper, she is setting the example for her 6-year old daughter and teaching her that you can achieve anything you set your mind to. She’s an inspiration to us all. April won a $200 pair of Skinny Jeans from Blush Boutique, a Day of Beauty from Chez Ritz, a 90-minute massage and 10% off a massage package with Karie Tieszen, Licensed Massage Therapist, and 2 months of Boot Camp from AlaskaFit!

Congratulations to everyone who participated in our Best Body Holiday Challenge!  We had a great time and watching you all make HUGE changes in your lives is why we all do what we do.  We had some phenomenal success stories from this, our second Best Body Challenge.  Below are the stories of our winners:

Grand Prize Winner:  Erica Larson!

Erica won $200 skinny jeans from Blush Boutique, a Day of Beauty ($425) from Chez Ritz, 4-pack of massages from Karie Tieszen, LMT, 2-month membership to The Dome ($78) and 2 months of AlaskaFit Boot Camp ($438)!

What did Erica feel like at the beginning of the Challenge? She felt like she was going to have a heart attack (she’s only 19).  Everything was a struggle for her and she had been struggling with her weight for her entire life.  In 8 weeks of coming to our Best Body Challenge Workouts, Erica lost 11 pounds, 5.3% body fat and 14.75 inches!!!  She also gained new self-confidence and a drive to achieve the rest of her weight loss goals and numerous other goals in her life.  Here’s what she had to say upon winning the challenge:

1st Runner Up:  Katz Bollinger!

Katz lost an incredible 17.5 pounds, 3.8% body fat and 10 inches in just 8 weeks with our Best Body Boot Camp!  She made it to every workout and busted her butt at all of them!

What did Katz feel like at the beginning of the Challenge? “In a word, tired! ”  She was tired when she walked up the stairs, tired when she went shopping, trying to find something fashionable and comfortable to wear and tired of trying to make the changes she needed to make to her life by herself.  She joined the Challenge with her friend Rebecca (she’s our 2nd runner up) and never looked back.  She’s made big changes to her life and is continuing on her new path to health and wellness.  Check her out below:

2nd Runner Up:  Rebecca Van Wyck

Rebecca lost 15 pounds, 4.7% Body Fat and 11.5 inches in 8 weeks! She lost the final baby weight, dropped two pants sizes and Santa brought her gift certificates to go shopping for new clothes.  She also inspired her family to make changes, taking them all out for a walk between the main meal and dessert on Thanksgiving Day (after attending our 8am Turkey-Bustin’ workout)!

How did Rebecca feel at the beginning of the Challenge? She was ready to make a change.  Her daughter is just about a year old and it was time for Rebecca to take off the last 20 pounds or so from her pregnancy.  She was so ready for a change that she got a co-worker (Katz), and two other friends to join her in the Challenge.  She committed to running a 5k and her husband now walks the track with their baby in a stroller during Rebecca’s workouts…it’s a family affair! Not only did we have our amazing big prize winners, we had lots of other success stories, too.  Not the least among them:

Aracely Donat: Had a 20% body fat loss!

JJ Carrigan: Our most consistent Best Body Challenger.  This was JJ’s second challenge and to date she has lost 45 pounds, 8%, 14 inches and I can’t count the number of pants sizes she’s dropped.  JJ is on a mission to lose weight and make serious changes to her lifestyle and health.  Her husband is serving in the military and hasn’t seen her since she began to make these changes back in July.  Her entire family is noticing the changes not only to her size, but to her lifestyle and eating habits as well.  Great job JJ!

Janet Morrone: By far, our most enthusiastic Boot Camper!  Janet kicks her own butt at every workout, we can’t give her tough enough exercises.  She’s always there with a smile and great energy to share!  Janet is also a 2x Challeger, having lost 10 pounds and run a marathon in the time she’s been with us.  Her smile lights up our boot camp every week!
