It’s another great day in Alaska and a spectacularly beautiful one down here in Girdwood.
As many of you know, we are busy here at AlaskaFit getting ready for tomorrow’s Wedding Fair extravaganza at the Denai’na Center. I took a break mid-day to go out and cross-country ski in Moose Meadows and the Meadows that continue on behind Alyeska Resort. It was admittedly chilly at 19 degrees, but the blue skies and sunshine were calling to me.
After bundling up, I headed out and I was once again reminded of just why I live here. On the way to the meadows, I passed a young moose grazing in someone’s driveway. Once at the meadows, the snow was a little crusty, but the weather was perfect…full-on sunshine and blue skies.
As I made my way through the various meadows, I came across friends and neighbors and thought to myself I am one of the luckiest people on the planet and I am eternally grateful to the powers that be that brought me here. I live in one of the most beautiful places in the world and it’s filled with great people. I can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon.
Did you get outside and play today? The gym is great and so is Boot Camp. Just remember that we get ready indoors so that we can enjoy the outdoors. All of your training should be getting you ready for life! And real life is outside of the gym doors!
